ROBOTIC HAIR RESTORATION SURGERY

Hair transplantation is a surgical form of hair restoration, as opposed to non-surgical hair restoration techniques and protocols. Hair transplant surgery involves the removal of hair follicles from part of the scalp, referred to as the “donor site,” to a bald or balding part of the scalp, referred to as the “recipient site.”

Hair transplant surgery is a technique that is primarily used to treat noticeable male pattern baldness. This procedure involves harvesting grafts containing hair follicles that are genetically resistant to balding (like the back of the head). These follicles are typically not prone to thinning due to resistance to DHT. The harvested follicles from the donor site are transplanted to the region of the scalp with thinning / baldness.

The follicular units obtained by the FUE method are the basic building blocks of follicular unit transplantation.

THE MOST EFFECTIVE TECHNIQUE

Follicular Unit Extraction

Sierra Robot Hair Institute specializes in Follicular unit extraction (FUE), and is one of two primary methods of obtaining hair follicles, naturally occurring groups of one to four hairs, for hair transplantation. The other method is called strip harvesting, and is less desirable as it is known to leave an incision scar on the donor site.

Follicular unit extraction generally yields the best aesthetic results, and takes considerable time and experience to learn and to develop skills to a high standard. Dr. Rafael Sierra is a trained surgeon with years of surgical experience.

Dr. Sierra performs FUE surgery with the aid of the ARTAS iX Robot. This is known as Robotic Hair Restoration Surgery, and is currently the most advanced method of hair restoration surgery, yielding the best results.

During your free initial consultation, Dr. Rafael Sierra will take the time to get to know you and your unique aesthetic goals. A thorough examination will be conducted to ensure your candidacy for hair loss treatment. This will also be your opportunity to ask questions and gain an understanding of what you can expect from your procedure.

HOW FUE SURGERY IS PERFORMED

ARTAS® iX Robotic Hair Restoration

The ARTAS® Robotic System is the first and only robotic hair transplant system in the world. It uses state-of-the-art robotic technology to perform Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), a hair restoration technique that harvests hair follicles individually, rather a full strip of the scalp. Manual FUE is a difficult, painstaking task that is prone to human error as physicians must remove thousands of grafts by hand during the procedure.

The ARTAS® iX robotic hair restoration platform includes an advanced multi-camera stereoscopic vision system with 44-micron resolution. This system, along with the device’s seven-axis robot arm, enables physicians to deliver automated procedures with the greatest accuracy.

The ARTAS® Robotic Hair Restoration System is the world’s first intelligent hair transplant platform to utilize state-of-the-art robotic and artificial intelligence technology. This robotic hair transplant machine offers precise, efficient, and repeatable harvesting with simultaneous recipient site making and implantation functionalities in a single, compact platform. The advanced technology behind the ARTAS® iX machine continuously enhances both physician and patient experience and satisfaction, as evidenced by an average “Worth It” rating of 91% on RealSelf.com.
